Charleen is of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, Ngati Whatua and Te Rarawa descent. She was educated in Dargaville before graduating from the University of Auckland with a BA (Māori Studies)/ LLB in 2014. Charleen was admitted to the bar in May 2016. Before joining Henderson Reeves she worked at Tai Tokerau Community Law where she developed a passion for working amongst the community to assist those who may have barriers to access justice.
Charleen was an active member of Te Rakau Ture, the Māori Law Students Society and is a current member of te Hunga Roia Māori (the New Zealand Māori law Society).
A member of the Family litigation team at Henderson Reeves, Charleen has a particular interest in Family Law, Criminal Law and Employment Law.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her whānau.
