Charleen is of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, Ngāti Whatua and Te Rarawa descent.  She was educated in Dargaville before graduating from the University of Auckland with a BA (Māori Studies)/ LLB in 2014.  Charleen was admitted to the bar in May 2016.  Before joining Henderson Reeves she worked at Tai Tokerau Community Law where she developed a  passion for working amongst the community to assist those who may have barriers to access justice.

Charleen was an active member of Te Rākau Ture, the Auckland University Māori Law Students Society and is a current member of Te Hunga Roia Māori (the New Zealand Māori Law Society).

Charleen has an interest in Family, Criminal and Employment law.  As member of the Family section of the litigation team at Henderson Reeves, Charleen currently focuses on Family Law.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her whānau.
